Bangalore, Apr 8 (UNI) IT hub Bangalore ranks the fourth cleanest city among 18 State Capitals, according to a Lifebuoy Cleanliness Survey.

The city ranked fourth with a score of 108, as against the all-city average of 100. The areas where the city have done well were clean roads, efficient garbage disposal system and greenery and plantations, a release here said today.

Chandigarh emerged the clear winner with a score of 144, followed by Chennai and Kolkata with scores of 118 and 108 respectively.

The survey, conducted by A.C. Nielsen ORG MARG, took into account the opinion of citizens on cleanliness in their cities, the release said.

Soap brand Lifebuoy had taken the pioneering step in enhancing awareness about health, hygiene and cleanliness in the country by commissioning a pan-India city cleanliness survey - the 'Lifebuoy Swasthya Chetna City Meter'.
