New Delhi, India, February 09, 2007 - ASSOCHAM with the support of Ministry of Urban Development is organizing a National Conclave on the theme “60 Indian Cities : In Depth View of Realty & Infrastructure Opportunities” on 13 & 14th February, 2007 in New Delhi.

The conclave is being organized in the context of the highly active real estate, township and urban infrastructure development scenario in India.  A forceful thrust to this sector has been also provided by the Union Government through Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission creating the right conditions for unleashing exponential growth in these sectors.

The realty and infrastructure boom in India may soon equal similar developments in China in terms of scales as it is backed up by continued high economic growth rates achieved by the country over last few years. The rapidly growing urban population and the massive existing shortage of modern housing and commercial space have thus created nearly limitless opportunities making it almost a trillion Dollar business opportunity.

One of the important feature of this scenario is the very serious and active attention being given to these sectors by international and national investors, global or indigenous developers, housing finance companies, real estate consultants & professionals, corporates engaged in creation of urban infrastructure including urban transport, water supply, sanitation, waste management and many other stakeholders.

The event has two components:

On the first day, 13th February, 2007 authorities from various States of India shall make presentations giving details of their potentials, policies, procedures and the specific projects on anvil or under consideration (Venue : Hotel Le-Meridien, New Delhi ).

The second day, 14th February, 2007 has been reserved for one to one meeting between the state and city officials and the private sector (Venue : ASSOCHAM House, 47, Prithviraj Road, New Delhi).

The event is designed to facilitate real time exchange of business information potentially leading to actual business or project formulation.
